I started my own cafe in Kadıköy two years ago, and in the evenings I play Irish and Balkan music in Taksim.

I taught myself to play the fiddle, mandolin, whistle, and I sing both Balkan and Celtic music in Turkish and English, etc.

My husband and I recently started another cafe in the south of Turkey, in Datça. We spend half the year there, and half the year in Istanbul.

I am new to couchsurfer, but have met many travelers through a shared interest in music. I encourage people in Istanbul to come to my cafe in Kadıköy to play music, and get information about other musical gatherings and events.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband's best friend was a rabbit named Bıdık; every day he would make a new shelter for the rabbit, inside and outside. It was amazing to watch these two together.
