About Me

You can find me here https://www.facebook.com/fernandaalvim
or here: https://instagram.com/fernandaalvim

I'm brazilian and I dream of traveling the world and learning all the languages I can. I just spent a year as an au pair in Luxembourg.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had great experiences couchsurfing when I was abroad and I hope to have some more around here in Belo Horizonte.

Interests

I'm graduated in fine arts, so I love art, drawing, painting and spending time in different museums. I also like to hang out in bars and pubs.
I love cats, reading, going to my favorite bands' concerts, watching movies and tv shows, talking while having a nice cup of coffee and spending time with friends anywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's difficult to choose.

Music:
I enjoy very diverse things so I don't know if it would be useful to make a list. I listen to Metal and Rock and to Björk and Loreena Mckennitt and some trip-hop (massive attack, portishead) and some folk bands... I also enjoy classical music, speacially to watch a live orchestra. Feel free to ask me about it and to share any nice music you listen to (:

Movies:
So many as well. Lars von Trier, but also Tarantino and Almodovar, you know? Eclectic, maybe?

Books:
My favorites are: The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, Pride and Prejudice, American Gods, A song of ice and fire, The Stranger (Camus), The mists of Avalon, and I gotta say that I love Virginia Woolf, specially her personal writings, letters, diaries, etc.
I love Anne Sexton's and Sylvia Plath's poems.
There's a lot more, of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I think about it, I usually remember amazing things I've seen, idk why. Maybe I'm more of a visual person. The mountains of my state and a specific spot in a beach in Bahia came to my mind at first. The beach is somewhere between Ponta do Mutá and Coroa Vermelha, btw.
Thinking about moments, I believe adopting my cat was amazing. Also, when I was approved to college and the first days there... Traveling with my friends to Rio was fantastic and I also remember one day when my boyfriend and I were walking home at 5 am in Belo Horizonte and the sky was grey and getting clearer and it was something beautiful to watch.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Portuguese, why not? A few useful word at least (: I don't think anybody will want to learn how to draw or paint during a trip lol but I can teach you how to cook a Brazilian dish (: I'd like to learn about different cultures and languages, so anything you've got to share would be appreciated.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I'm not the greatest cook, but I can prepare something while I teach you some Portuguese words and Brazilian idioms :D
I can share deep conversations or silly chats.
Maybe you have watched the same tv shows I did, or maybe we've read the same books and played the same games - or maybe what would make our conversation amazing is that we are so different!
