Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Fikri — proudly Malaysian 🇲🇾 with a passport full of stories. I studied in Egypt for 3 years and now work in London 🇬🇧. Growing up between cultures has shaped how I see the world — with curiosity, gratitude, and a hunger for new perspectives.
I believe that the best parts of traveling aren’t just the landmarks, but the people we meet and the stories we exchange along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To me, Couchsurfing is the soul of travel — it’s about human connection. I travel not to escape life, but to live it more deeply — to meet kind souls, share laughs, and learn from the everyday moments we often miss.
While I can’t travel 24/7, I make every trip count — and Couchsurfing makes it 10x better.
Interests
I’m the type of person who says “sure, let’s try it!” — which is exactly how I fell in love with hiking. What started as a random weekend activity became something I truly enjoy.
From scenic trails to street food alleys, I love being out in the world and discovering the unfamiliar.
Music, Movies, and Books
Give me a good Korean drama and a warm drink, and I’ll be happily occupied for hours. I also enjoy reading books that inspire action and personal growth — anything that challenges how we think.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped off a 12-meter cliff in the Philippines — unplanned, heart-racing, and totally worth it. That feeling of standing on the edge and saying "why not?" — unforgettable.
Teach, Learn, Share
Want to try real Malaysian food? I’ve got you covered! From creamy Nasi Lemak to spicy Rendang, I’d love to cook and share our food stories.
In return, I’m always excited to learn about your culture — how you cook, live, and think. I believe food and conversation are the best bridges between people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring good vibes, interesting conversations, and a deep appreciation for different cultures. I can share insights on Malaysian and Egyptian philosophies, cook a comforting meal, or just chat about life and travel.
You’ll also leave knowing how to say a few cool words in Bahasa Melayu 😉
