ABOUT ME

Currently itinerant, nixed the idea of living the "endless summer" -- austral summers on Antarctica, and boreal summers traveling and on the ocean -- by deciding to winter on the ice. I'm currently at Palmer Station, on the Antarctic Peninsula. I whiled away my wild and crazy youth listening to books on tape and knitting, and so decided to tone it down by running away to sea and taking up continent-hopping.

I've couchsurfed with friends in the US, a fantastic couple in Chile, and am looking forward to future welcoming experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Retrieve parachutes from the drop zone after watching the first C-17 airdrop on the Antarctic continent.
See giant ice blocks calving from the Piedmont Glacier and hearing and feeling the rumble.
Come face to face with a sea lion while snorkeling in the Galapagos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer: Fancyknot work, the knowledge of which flourished aboard sailing vesself of 200 years ago.
I would like to learn: The art and skill of storytelling.
