I was born in Prague and also grew up there. My family (from my mother's side) has pretty deep roots in that city - they have lived there since the Thirty-years war (17th century). I think it's fair to say that this fact itself makes me a halfway decent ambassador of my native city.
Although I feel a deep emotional connection with Prague, since my early twenties, I've felt an unquenchable thirst for exploration which hasn't left me since. I've been fortunate enough to be able to shape my life in accordance with this desire. Currently, I oscillate between Berlin and Saint Petersburg, as I'm finishing a double-degree masters program in those two incredible European cities.

I like to think of myself, as the late Christopher Hitchens once put it, as a "rooted cosmopolitan".

Overwhelmingly positive. I have not experience a single thing that would make me reconsider my involvement in CS.

I enjoy reading classical literature as well as biographies and old diaries. I also always try to read books in the original language (this is obviously limited by my language skills).
