My current goals are to finish bachelor's degree in philosophy and get to major; to re-start our band and play more concerts;

ABOUT ME

Studying, playing drums in jazz band and alternative band, enjoying theatre, literature and concerts, chilling with friends in some intelligent way.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't want to write some slogan that I live by - it doesnt usually say much, does it? But I am interested in philosophy, I study it and I read many philosophy texts for school. It is hard to pick something up, but I really enjoy Kierkegaard, Karl Jaspers and Martin Heidegger. From classical antiquity, I love Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics and Plato's socratic dialogues like Apology or Phaedo. I am interested in contemporary debate about the nature of consciousness and what are the possibilities to reconcile between scientific and everyday subjective view on consciousness and self.

I think it is important to try to find ways how to talk about philosophy outside of the hard to understand academic terminology - by the very nature of it, it should be here concerning everybody and for everybody to understand and get inspired by it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel around the Europe, and I think CS is the best way to get to the real life in the city. I don't need anything more than some place on the floor for the sleeping bag and if the host does not have time, I am absolutely fine with being on my own. Of course, I like friendly couchsurfers and it's always fun to have few beers together or do something fun. I really appreciate when hosts show me or recommend me places that are not touristic sights and I would hardly find them on my own -)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed several times - in Berlin and Budapest, and most experiences were great! I was hosting couchsurfers from Denmark and Berlin, we had lot of fun together

BOOKS

During last years, I had little time to read something other than philosophy books. I enjoy reading some of the philosophers of existence, especially Karl Jaspers, Heidegger and Kierkegaard. From analytical tradition, I enjoy late Wittgenstein, Austin and Thomas Nagel. During last four years, I had to read through at least parts of most of the classics (from presocratics to todays analytical philosophy), but I am no expert!
From belletry I was recently amazed by Hemmingways For Whom the Bell Tolls, I like Dostojevkij, Marquez and Remarque, but also J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Pratchett and J. K. Rowling...
