Overview
About Me
My name is Filipp, and I'm traveling with my fiancée Sophie and our cat Beatrice.
---- Shortly about us, if you don't want to read too much: ----
We are fun and creative young people from Latvia, living in Barcelona for 1.5 years, and eager to explore the north of Spain and meet the amazing people who live there. We love exploring the world through people. I teach Spanish and do handicrafts, and Sophie is a certified marketer, volunteer, and future psychologist who is passionate about meditation and spiritual practices. Our cat Beatrice is affectionate and sociable and will mostly be going out with us. We are happy to share our knowledge, skills, and warmth, and after our trip, we would be delighted to host you in Barcelona!
---- If you want to get to know us better, here is more detailed information: ----
We are both from Latvia, but in my childhood, I (Filipp) moved to Ecuador and lived there for 5 years. In 2022, I moved to Barcelona, just like my fiancée. It is very hot in Barcelona now, so we want to explore the north of Spain, which impresses us greatly, and get to know the vibe of those places.
---- About each of us: ----
---- Filipp:
If you ask me about my nationality, I find it hard to answer. I was born in Latvia in a Russian family, moved to Ecuador, and absorbed Latin American culture. At 21, I moved to Spain on my own and have been influenced by this culture as well. I love exploring the world through people and their cultures! I speak three languages fluently and am learning three more. By 30, I aim to learn 10 languages – that's my goal. I've had many different jobs: copywriting, IT, sales, 3D modeling, carbon fibre production, and more. Now, I teach Spanish and practice making jewelery and other crafts. I've also been doing handpoke tattoos for over a year, which I really enjoy. In a few years, I see myself working in a workshop and traveling the world in a motorhome, as these are my two favorite things in life.
---- Sophie:
I believe that since we live only once, we should live to the fullest. So, my story starts with a significant moment: in 2022, I accidentally ended up in Barcelona and decided in three days that I would move to this city. Five months later, I moved as a volunteer and helped people with disabilities for 10 months. I love deep conversations, helping people, and I want to become a psychologist. Additionally, I'm spiritual, have been vegan for 5 years, and practice meditation, so I'd be happy to share my experiences and discuss various theories like reincarnation. I'm a certified marketer and a good salesperson, but I'm trying to move into a more creative field, so I'd love to do some crafts together. I can also do a tattoo for you, but Filipp does it much better. People say I inspire them to be brave and start living their dream life.
I really love the Spanish language, understand it well, but I'm still working on speaking it fluently.
---- Our cat La Mona Beatriza (or just Betty):
I'm 9 years old, very affectionate and sociable, and recently started traveling and exploring Spain with my parents. I'm very curious but well-behaved and love meeting new people. I plan to travel with my parents around the north of Spain, so you won't see me often at home, but if you want – I'd be happy to stay with you and play.
After our trip, we would be happy to host guests in Barcelona and show you the beauty of this city!
We look forward to learning more about you and your culture, and spending time together in a way that will warm your heart for many years – whether through a new tattoo, crafts we make together, or just deep conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like light techno for work, but guitar and ukulele is great too. Don't see too much movies, so pretty much any movie may impress me, except naive comedies. My latest and best book I've read is Mastery by Robert Greene, a magnificent book that shows a life roadmap for all the young people like myself.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I crossed the ocean on a sailboat during a thunderstorm season.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Spanish, Russian, English and even some Latvian. I am also pretty good at crafts so I can fix something for you or create something. Crafts is the thing I'd love to learn more about too. So any knowledge is welcome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Apart from the mentioned language teaching, I can handpoke a tattoo on you, tell stories about Ecuador and Latvia, and share pretty much anything I know if we got enough time.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belarus, Colombia, Costa Rica, Estonia, Lithuania, Panama, Peru, Poland, Sweden
Countries I’ve Lived In
