Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For several years, I had a couch on offer... but no-one seemed to want to spend the summer in Belgium? I wonder why? Few years ago, I moved to Scotland, where couches were in much more demand. I did not have that many surf requests outside the Fringe festival season, when I was flooded with hundreds of requests. After 4 years hibernating in Scotland, I moved back to Belgium, which I have been using as a temporary base to start looking for a job/location and from where I got some travel action done before tackling my new job. However, due to a twist of fate, I find myself back in Edinburgh again, although not with any definite accommodation at the moment... As soon as I find a new flat, I'll put myself up as a host again - I promise. In the meanwhile I can go for a coffee - it is always nice to meet new people through this network,

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great! Nice experience! Although, I wish I had the chance to host and surf more often. I had a chance in the US, but a snow storm made it impossible to sleep in somebody's caravan. Definitely will make use of the network more in the near future, both surfing and hosting.
