About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A permanent positioooon! Fight!
Update: got that :)
Next mission: finding out what routine looks like for me.
Update: a very, very flexible one.

ABOUT ME

After the one-year Erasmus in Brighton, I graduated in Foreign Langauges and Literature in 2010 and spent two years working with languages. Two years of postponing the inevitable, I must say. Teaching was a great experience but stability is not what I want now, I'm sure of it, I've tried it!
So here I am, about to leave for a nine-month trip around the world, with my head in the clouds, even more than usual. What to say... Brighton gave me birth, but I know this journey is going to reinvent me.
I have no freaking idea how to describe myself! My hardest try would be this: water.
I can tell you what I like though, read later on.

........
It's been years since that trip, here are some updates. Now living in York (UK) and not travelling as much. But if I can't go to the world, I'd like the world to come to me, so open to meet travellers.

PHILOSOPHY

What I don't know is always worth listening to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Can't host, still don't have my own place but always ready to meet new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing was in Peru, in Arequipa. That family really adopted me, I have such fond memories of them.

Also met a great girl in Brighton through couch surfing and we went to a kung-fu trial lesson. Gosh, that was fun!

Interests

Sports to practice and not to watch steadly on a sofa (particularly basketball and any team sport)! I really enjoy dancing rock, latin (especially salsa and forrò) and commercial/electronic music (everything but techno). I love watching movies and some of my favourites are American beauty, The legend of 1900, the Before the sunset triology.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read novels and mangas (the second are more of a teenage passion), and my favourite contemporary novelist is Baricco, without any doubt.
I am like Haruki Marukami too, of a deep and unstoppable love. Jeanett Winterson has turned my world upside down, but has to be taken in small dosage. Starting to be interested in detective stories. Currently reading pride and prejudice, despite terrible block against "the classics" due to ridiculous school impositions.

I adore psychological, introspective novels and films, and conversations that from the outside sound like focused on thin air.
Music: Placebo, Muse, 70s 80s classic rock, latin (forrò, salsa) Irish folk music and so on. Any happy music really, and the kind that has poetic lyrics (like Laura Marling, the reader of souls).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- My first trip by myself was in Spain, summer 2010. I just couldn't believe how amazing that was: I felt free and positive and able to do absolutely anything. I walked by myself for an afternoon and by the end of the day I'd met so many wonderful people!

- The Sziget Festival was a great experience. Everybody was camping so close to each other and it felt as if I was part of a huge community of enthusiastic, easy-going youngsters.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to live without being too wrapped up in this "all made of money" world: sustainable communities, education projects and alternative lifestyles represent most of what I want to learn from people and the world. I love the places I've visited, but what I remember most dearly are the people I've met and what they conveyed to me.
Every time I talked about what I wanted do after I'd graduated, everyone tried to suggest me the profession I could make the most money of. But I DON'T WANT TO BE IN SUCH AN ENVIRONMENT because the highest percentage of arseholes is gathered exactly there. Let me run wild!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Peru, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom
