Overview
About Me
I live in a 3 bedrooms apartment about 7km from the city. It is a quiet area which suit me coz I hate living in a fast pace environment such as the city.
I have been working in the tourism industry over the past 10 years. I know a little bit more of the tourism industry in Sabah which I would like to share to fellow cser.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The main reason I am into couchsurfing is that I believe I can tell more about Sabah to the world. Being a local which is one of tge native or original people of Sabah there is so much to share on our way of life and traditional values.
I also like to share and hear traveling stories. We can always LEARN something from them.
I would also love to hear what do you think of Sabah and the places of interest that you have visited. For us to improve and further enhance these attractions are.
Interests
I have many! 😊. I am into dancing, choreographing, modeling and reading. I own a modeling agency although I am inactive now. I used to plant orchids and collecting stamps and postcards.
Recently in the last 5 years I started traveling whenever I can which lead me to couchsurfing. Through travels I learn a bit more of culture and people.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Things that I know and to the best of my knowledge these are what I can offer to cser.
a) Place to stay - 2 rooms max 4 cser. Clean sheets and towels are provided.
b) Pickup if required - from airport and to the city. Sometimes you may want to try local buses 😊. Trying our best to accommodate and make your stay more confortable. ☺
c) Info on places of interest - beaches (west north and south eastern) widlife (east and south western) diving (south eastern) island (south east, west - off KK) mountain (interior, south eastern). I suggest book online or we can visit any of the travel agents once you arrive in KK. Sometimes it is cheaper if you just visit any lodges or resort and join their tours.
d) You can message me (not necessarily staying) if you need info on places of interest.
Also bear in mind that:-
1. Tourism in Sabah is very niche or specialised. It is mainly nature tourism from mountain tops to ocean deep including wildlife experience such as oramgutan, mongkeys, sun bears and fireflies; and a bit of culture, golf, and local market & communities in between.
2. It is cheaper to book online a month in advance if you intend to climb Mt. Kinabalu or other mountain e.g. Mt. Trusmadi in Tambunan; Mt. Maria, Mt. Magdalena and Mt. Lucia in Tawau; etc. Mountain guide is required for climbing mountain in Sabah. Climbing is strictly regulated for your safety. All mountains are regarded as sacred among the locals and public nudity is a no no.
3. The nearest island hopping is off Kota Kinabalu - to the TARP islands about 15min boatride. Cheap and easy RM30+ from Jesselton Point. Lots of Chinese and Koreans frequent these beaches/islands.
4. Beautiful whire sandy beaches/islands and crystal clear water are mainly in south eastern part e.g. Semporna. Some are in the north (3 hrs drive) - secluded and far less touristic.
5. For budget travelers staying in backpacker establishment/dorms is about RM40++. CS is the best way to save a little cash and host can show you around the city and probably drive you around to other places of interest a bit far from the city.
