Overview
About Me
I am a French Major with a double minor in Japanese and Business. I travel a good bit; Japan for 2 months in 2013, South Africa for 2 months 2014, England/ Ireland on and off for my entire life, China for 11 days 2010, etc... I was born in Dublin, Ireland 1993 to a Northern Irish father and English mother who was born in Kurdistan. She grew up all over the world because her father was a Middle-Eastern language specialist for MI6. We moved to Japan before my first birthday, and moved to Virginia before my third; we went back home every summer. I lived out in the country side of Virginia (Goochland County, Virginia) until I was 18. I left to go to the University of South Carolina, and have been in Columbia since. I still haven't achieved Dual Citizenship, but I hope to soon. Language learning is an incredibly important part of who I am; the ability to break down the language barrier and understand outside perspectives is very fulfilling. My Christian faith certainly plays a role as I enjoy conversing with people of all nations. I came to faith my Sophomore year of college after having been an atheist all my life. Without my faith I never would have started studying French, I never would have gone to Japan or South Africa, and I wouldn't be planning a semester abroad in France for next year. And it makes me a very good houseguest ;). I also am a filmmaker and have my own procession group called "Put a Sock on It" (putasockonit.org)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I filmed and edited a film on software I'd never used (sony vegas) through the night, presented that film during the day, Climbed Mount fuji during a storm in freezing temperatures through the night (me and my friends nearly died several times), Bathed in the hot, refreshing waters of the mountain spring (an Onsen) with my team and a bunch of old naked Japanese men in the morning, and celebrated the star festival in Japan during the day, then told the story of it to all of my friends; without sleeping. Took 58 hours. Never put my head down. Slept from 6pm to 8am afterwards. An entire weekend without sleep is the longest I have ever done and will ever do, hopefully, but everything involved made it one of the greatest things I have ever done.
