Overview
About Me
I wanted to rework my profile for quite a while now and today finally is the day.
I have met so many great people through Couchsurfing and I’m happy that this platform is still alive. At the same time, I felt my profile needed an update. I have certainly grown in the past years and while I think the foundations of my personality have not changed much, still my outlook on life and my life circumstances have changed.
One thing that did not change is that I fundamentally think, living in the moment is the most important thing to do. And while I keep getting better at it, I still struggle to disconnect from everyday bustle to fully calm down and appreciate what’s happening around me. After all I am still attached to society although I sometimes feel like the odd one out.
I believe that human interaction, kindness and respect is what makes us keep going. That for me is the main reason to be on Couchsurfing. Connecting with people and having a good time together.
For the past years my job as sound technician at one of Hamburg’s state theatres has dictated my life. I loved the work and especially the big, diverse family of theatre people. About two years ago I decided to quit though because I was looking for a new challenge. I finally found the courage to study. I never felt that it would be for me and that I can manage ‘school’ of any sort again. But as of now I enjoy learning about media technology in depth and generally appreciate the opportunity to being able to learn again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people at or from places, you've never been to before. To connect.
Interests
My interests have always been widespread and keep getting more varied with growing up. Music, especially Metal music has been a constant in my life ever since. Slipknot and Joey Jordison were the reason for me to learn the drums. Later I learned to play guitar to accompany myself singing and ultimately ended up taking classical singing lessons for years. Meanwhile I also picked up the hurdy-gurdy what in consequence led me to Folk music and the Balfolk scene.
The technical nature of my job and studies shapes the second half of my interests. Audio reproduction, speaker building and photography.
Although I really love movies, I haven’t been to cinema much recently and also rarely see movies at home unfortunately.
Summer Breeze Festival in Bavaria has been an annual event for me since 2017. It is like meeting an old friend every year I go there. For me that envirment is whole, peaceful and a catharsis of some sort.
