I decided that for my upcoming travels, i will endeavor to have an interesting interaction for each leg of the journey. Though tending towards shy, i find i really enjoy chatting with others about their own journeys through life...

I am currently working as an environmental consultant with an emphasis on river restoration. I have a varied assortment of interests, though i tend to get easily distracted with them. Studied for three years in England and hoping to stretch my legs a bit again after four years of staying close to home.

eclectic taste in music though am usually pretty happy with bluegrass; I know he's much better known for other books, but i really enjoyed "The Botany of Desire"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

while doing a snorkel survey in the Cedar River Watershed (water supply for the city of Seattle), looking up and seeing a large cougar on a rock at the river's edge about ten feet away from me. standing up and staring into a large carnivore's eyes and seeing no fear just some sort of contemplation...

bits of random, sometimes useful, knowledge. I can talk hyporheic zones pretty coherently, would love to learn and share knowledge on plants (foraging, medicinal, gardening), experiences traveling and just being outside...
