Overview
About Me
I spend a significant amount of my time reading and cooking. I am very social, but rarely the life of the party. I live in a city with lots of parks and space for outdoor activities, which is how I spend much of my time (cycling, canoeing, running). I studied anthropology and political philosophy in school and am always happy to have long conversations on these topics, as well as many others. Learning and mastering new recipes from around the world is often how I spend my evenings. In this area, as in most others, it is always better with company.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I prefer to stay with people when I am traveling, rather than in hotels. When I am able to, I am more than happy to host travelers as well. I require no luxury when I travel and am very good at staying out of people's way. That being said, I am always more than happy to spend time with my hosts: exploring the area, going to bars, cooking meals together, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
Too many to count, but some that come to mind are Apocalypse Now, His Girl Friday, Children of Men, anything by Stanley Kubrick, Taika Waititi, Luc Besson, Asghar Farhadi or Werner Herzog.
I listen to too much music to try and pick favorites.
I also read far too much to narrow it down, but what I happen to have right in front of me is: The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Collected Works of Jorge Luis Borges, The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell and The Invasion of Britain by Julius Caesar.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have tutored English and Logic at the university level. I am also eager to learn as many languages as I can, as well as continue teaching English. I am happy to learn and teach recipes and kitchen skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very capable in the kitchen and love to cook alongside other people, especially when I am learning new recipes. Sharing meals is a big part of both why I love to travel and the way I choose to travel.
