Overview
About Me
Hello!
I am Akmal, a Javanese but have been living quite long in Pelaihari, South Kalimantan. Thus, beside fluent in Indonesian and Javanese, I am also a great speaker of Banjarese. Currently, I am working for BMKG, an Indonesian governmental institution and now, I am on a leave from my office to pursue a master's degree in University of Cambridge.
I love to hear stories about other countries because I haven't gotten the chance to visit and experience other countries. I also like to know how other people from other countries live their life. How is their daily life, how is their school system, how is the characteristic of the food, etc. That is why, I would love to connect with other people from other parts of the world.
Many times I rejected requests because I am quite busy most of the time. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to message me as I read my email-which receives notification from Couchsurfing whenever a new message arrives-frequently. Hopefully, your needs meet my availability and let's hangout!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I am reading a traveling book and the author mention this site because it's a part of their journey. I feel like I also wants to know some travelers, because I like to travel. Another thing is that I want to experience something different, because I believe that staying with locals will provide another level of experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like any music that sounds good. Either it is:
- traditional Indonesian music,
- Kpop,
- Jpop,
- Indonesian pop,
- western pop,
- indie-folk,
- Indian music,
etc.
I would recommend you to watch About Time and Coco, which got me thinking about the existence of ourselves in this life. Aside from that, Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck, is my all time love story favorite. It captures the beauty of the original novel and the original setting. It made me cry as well.
