Hey! I'm Fiske, a CompSci student currently attending Utrecht University in the Netherlands. I mostly spend my time studying, making good memories with my current friends, making new friends and learning as much as I can.

When time is plentiful, I like to travel to meet new people and enjoy new sceneries that aren't available in my daily life. I'd like to provide the couchsurfing community with enjoyable travel experiences and hope to find similarly enjoyable experiences for myself!

Finally, if you've got a software project in mind that you wouldn't ever propose to someone else, let me hear it! Creating new applications can help me learn some new, possible obscure programming language, add something to my CV or just be a fun pastime.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to find more opportunities to meet new people, as well as to get more access to cheap and fun travel experiences. In the process, I'd like to help others optimize their own travels.
Due to a consistently busy schedule, I will often not be available as a host. However, I'll try my best to be available during summers and will certainly make exceptions for those who have been kind enough to be a host for me.

*** What to expect when couchsurfing at my place ***
I live in a studio on the first floor in a three-floor building. When couchsurfing here, you'll have access to either a 2m long couch or a camping setup consisting of a mat and a sleeping bag. You'll need your own pillow regardless, as I've always slept without any!

Conditions regarding breakfast and dinner would be largely dependent on your preference.

*** What I expect when couchsurfing at your place ***
All I'd expect is a place to stay that's somewhat comfortable. A couch, a mattress or some space to employ a mat and sleeping bag would suffice.
I'm not planning on couchsurfing for more than three days, during which I can of course be responsible for my own food and water.

Music, Movies, and Books

*** Music ***
I like to listen to whatever fits the mood I'm looking to be in! Though I especially love tranquil music, including many classical pieces like Erik Satie's 1st Gymnopédie and some peaceful background tracks from pop culture.
I also really like Frank Sinatra, Coeur de Pirate and whatever chill/easygoing songs are in the top 40 at any given moment!

*** Movies and TV series ***
Most movies starring Leonardo DiCaprio (especially "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "The Great Gatsby"), Ghibli movies, The Shawshank Redemption, Cidade de Deus, Yip Man and really way too many to list.
As for TV series, I thoroughly enjoy(ed) Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Sherlock.

*** Books ***
I haven't read books for entertainment in a while, but any work with insight regarding psychology or technology seems worth the read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I honestly wouldn't call anything I've done "amazing", but I'm very proud of the progress I made when I got into bodybuilding at 17 years old. Between 17-19 years old, I went from 75kg to 93kg!

My next goal is to consistently be able to balance education, work, bodybuilding and traveling.
