CURRENT MISSION
To save money so I can travel again
ABOUT ME
25 years old. American female. Working and living in Sydney, Australia. Have a Kiwi partner. Want to see the world. Still on the never-ending path of finding my true identity. Like a sponge soaking up knowledge and experiences. Hoping for change. Just enjoying life, one day at a time.
PHILOSOPHY
Life really is what you make of it! Everybody will encounter ups and downs, but you do play a role in choosing how to handle every situation. It is important to make wise decisions. You should live your life the way you want to, not the way others would like to see you live it. Don't forget to follow your dreams! It is easy to get caught up in the everyday routine. Break out and do what you really want as there might not be a tomorrow. We also need to work towards making our world a better, healthier, and safer place. We must treat others with respect and help those in need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't exactly become involved with CS yet... Once I get settled down I would love to show people around my city. In the meantime, it would be wonderful to find some awesome hosts!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The only CouchSurfing experience I have so far is that a girl I met while traveling in China recommended the site to me :) Talking to someone that had actually done it and had such high acclaim for it really put my fears at ease. I need to take the plunge soon!
Interests
Spending time with family and friends, traveling!, animals (I LOVE cats, it's okay if you don't), food, coffee/tea, beer/wine, exercise (especially running, tennis, and volleyball), reading, watching movies, learning more about the world in which we live, studying languages, going out on a moderate basis, improving myself everyday, setting goals and making it a point to achieve them

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really into documentaries at the moment, particularly ones about our health and environment! I also have an interest in ones about North Korea. I try to keep up with the new movie releases, but am not always successful. Lately I have a tendency to read a book that has been adapted to film, and then watch the movie afterwards. The books are always better! Non-fiction really sparks my interest, and I have a thing for the classics. I recently read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and would say it is a must read for all travelers.
I almost forgot to include my taste in music! I really do like a little of everything, including classical and country (some older stuff). My favorite kinds of music have to be electro(nica) and indie. Perhaps I should visit Sweden, I seem to like a lot of groups from there. K-Pop is quite nice too :) Big Bang and 2NE1!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most memorable experiences of my life was teaching English in Korea. I highly recommend it to those looking to make a difference in the world while learning about another culture, as well as a chance to really learn about yourself. It also provided me with the opportunity to travel Asia. One of my favorite experiences while traveling in China was camping on the Great Wall and how serene it was watching both a sunrise and sunset. For one entire night I and all the others camping had to survive without the Internet! Can you believe it? We actually had to entertain ourselves, and there was no electricity either :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be more than happy to help teach English as I have two years of experience doing that! I can also teach others about whatever area I am in living in: the culture, food, must see sports, etc.
I am always interested in learning new languages, and I also have a hidden dream of learning piano. I love food, so any new recipes, especially vegetarian ones, would be much appreciated!
