ABOUT ME
Hello! We are James and Emily, a friendly and sociable twosome from the south-west of England.
We've travelled around Europe a lot together and the Caribbean in the last few years and just over a year ago we impulsively booked some round the world tickets. Had a great time in SE Asia, New Zealand and back home to Arizona but sadly had to come back to the 'real' world and earn some more pennies.
Emily is 25, was born in the UK but moved to Arizona when she was 2. She returned to England to finish school and graduated university with a degree in Human Biology 2 years ago. She's had several jobs in the last few years, restaurant work, vet practice, nannying...but ultimately, saving money for the next adventure. She loves the outdoors, cycling, camping, walking, salsa dancing, cooking, driving and most water sports. She loves vegetables and chocolate (preferably not together) and enjoys drawing but rarely has the patience.
James is a 28 year old self-employed builder. He loves the countryside, especially mountains but also enjoys exploring cities and seeing the various styles of architecture each country has to offer. He spent two years renovating a farmhouse in the south of France, followed by a nice bit of time off adventuring. He plays guitar, likes most technology, and is also really interested in astronomy.
We've both been living up in Birmingham for the last 8 months renovating a house, living on a building site, and can't wait to move back to the south-west in Sept :) Bring on that fresh air!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Met many cool people for coffee, surfing and socialising in the last few years and had some great times with new friends!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our first real couchsurfing experience was last year in Slovenia when we decided to do a 3 week trip finishing in Bled for Christmas. Having been to Slovenia for a camping holiday a few years before, we decided to do something different. We saw Slovenia in a totally different light after meeting and staying with so many awesome couchsurfers who were amazingly welcoming and keen to show us what many visitors would be sure to miss.
We haven't looked back since and are excited to meet a whole bunch of new people on our next big adventure around the world :D
