ABOUT ME

I love traveling, meeting other people from other countries and from other cultures.

Presently I am living in Rwanda where I am working for the American organisation Partners in Health in a district hospital. I am coordinating the family medicine training from the National University of Rwanda in a district hospital (Rwinkwavu).

Previously I lived in Belgium where I was working at Ghent University, coordinating several projects concerning the development of family medicine training in Sub Saharan Africa.
Before I lived in Australia and Tanzania for my work.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel around and love to meet new interesting people. I have stayed many nights on different peoples couches and everyone is special! The couchsurf community is cool! It is great to host people and show them the special spots in our town and chat until deep in the mornings

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several people from all around the world (friends from friends from friends) in our house.
I once picked up a lost Israeli from the street in front of our house after dark. He was holding a map from Ghent with a big backpack on his back. After asking he said he did not have a place to stay yet, so we adopted him in our house that night! That same evening we went saw a band from Spain playing in a bar close to our place. And at around 1am the Cuban singer joined us for a tea in our big living room!!
Another time Nick surfed our couch for a while. He is a great person and musician. We organized a living room concert with him playing for all our friends twice; great (-:

Worldmusic.
My friends here always laugh when my MP3 player is on loud and playing music as it is such a big variety of different music, from 40's music to present hiphop, Rwandan songs to Dutch classics, classical guitar music to happy Australian songs. There is not much music that I do not like

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

There are so many things I have seen/ done everywhere. Though at the moment I am most happy in my umudugudu here in Rwanda (= village in Kinyarwanda), the kids running and playing around, joining my neighbours while singing churchsongs (I have no clue what they are singing but it just sounds so nice), ad my garden with all the flowers and the vegetables/ fruits I have planted, overlooking all the hills
