Embarking on a massive, overdue, round the world expedition!

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Fliss. Just about to start some round-the-world backpacking with Tim!

I'm starting to write my profile from work, in a supported accommodation project for troublesome teens, in North London. (These guys like to play dodgy music all night, break every rule we can come up with and generally try to wind us up in ever new & creative ways, can't wait to get out of here!!)

I've spent the last 10 years living in a few different cities in England, studying philosophy & psychology, & doing this kind of work. I'm particularly interested in mental health, & hope to return to this area. At the moment, I'm up for shaking it all off, meeting a load of new people & seeing what I learn from them. & doing some proper chilling out & exploring at the same time! A round-the-world trip has been a huge ambition for ever..

Tim & I have been together for 6 months, & he's agreed to come along for the ride! He's zany, genuine, fun, & I think as keen to get absorbed into some other cultures as I am. Can't wait.

PHILOSOPHY

Getting to know yourself is probably the most important thing in life for me. Trying to uncover your demons & learning to get on together, possibly over a gin & tonic. Shaking off all the unnecessary things, sticking the rest in a bag, & going out exploring. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're new to couch surfing. I think it sounds like an amazing chance to meet people who live in the places we're visiting, and to take advantage of some genuine local knowledge! We'll do our best to be perfect guests; bring a bottle right?!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a lot of crashing out on my brother's couch after a heavy night (often involving wine.. & some times air guitar!) I also have a great settee in London - I'm gonna miss it! - & I like having mates staying over. I do a mean scrambled egg hangover breakfast!

Red wine, monkeys, psychology, food (NB I'm currently pesky-tarian - I eat fish but not meat. Tim's normal) Beaches, kick-boxing, reading, sewing/making stuff, attempting to learn the guitar..
