ABOUT ME

I'm a 23 year old artist, art writer and environmental activist. I'm also a queer feminist and love meeting other LGBTIQ folks from all over the world.
I am passionate about methods or resistance, and about learning about how different communities have fought against the powers that be.
I love the bush, swimming and hanging out in nature.
I also love philosophy, literature, singing and art. Especially video art and sculpture. I love reading, and am always reading an article or a book. However, I am not a literature snob and will rea pretty much anything.
In my spare time, I like to cook (I love cooking) drink a nice glass (actually, bottle of red) and relax with friends, or trashy pop music.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed all over Australia and North America. I loved it and am hoping to return the favour when I live somewhere bigger.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Excellent. I've been taken to bars in the Castro, raw vegan restaurants in Portland and world heritage forests in Tasmania.

Interests

I am an environmental activist by trade and a queer and feminist activist by nature. I find organised resistance more exciting than anything else in the world and am always keen to hear activist stories.

I am an artist and art writer by trade, which effectively means that I spend most of my time writing grant and exhibition applications. But when I actually get to make work, I love filming and editing footage, and I'm currently learning about woodworking and metal working which is amazing.

I love climbing, and have spent a large part of the last year climbing off ships, buildings, trees and ocassionally getting rope burn.

I cook to relax and one of my favourite things in the world is cooking with people or cooking for people.

I love being in nature. I've been lucky enough to see some of the best national parks in the world :)

Music:
Folk, trashy pop, some rock.
Kanye, Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, the Mountain Goats, Missy Higgins, Cat Power, James Blake....

Books:
Everything. I am a voracious reader and will read anything.
Some of my favourites include: Chris Kraus, Thea Astley, Jeanette Winterson, JK Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Oscar Wilde, Continental philosophy...

Art:
I love video art, installation works, art as text, and almost anything that is passionate and earnest. In my artistic career I am passionate about supporting women and other marginalised artists.

Movies:
I mostly watch queer movies and enviro doccos. This year, I was really moved by the films "Pariah" and "the East."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely proficient at writing in English... it's not the most useful skill, but I can help with emails, job applications, and especially stories and poetry...

I am a very good cook, and love to share recipes.
