My name is Floraine and I have been living for about twelve years on the Basque coast, near Biarritz. Before that, I had the chance to live in several countries, including the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Originally from Lyon, I gradually found my balance close to nature, and especially near the ocean.

This year I turned 40 and, for the first time in a long while, I now have the opportunity to set out on the road and travel again. Ireland has always drawn me: I have been there for a few short trips, but for many years I have dreamed of spending more time there , to discover more of its culture, its deep connection to the land, its music, and of course its breathtaking landscapes.

My main goal on this trip is to truly connect with local people, to share everyday moments, learn from Irish culture firsthand, and feel as immersed as possible in the culture rather than just passing through as a visitor.

So far, CS gave me much more than couches to sleep on. It helped me jumping outside my comfort zone, as I know I can go anywhere in the world, I'll always meet amazing human beings that I can trust and exchange with. The people I met so far through CS, especially in the countries where I lived, did not only host me, they helped me settling into my new life, and gave me lots of strength and support.

I love photography and videography: it is a tool I love to use to create connections, share perspectives, and above all, nurture my sense of wonder in everyday life.
I'm particularly into documentary and filming portraits of people.

Recently singing in a choir and learning ukulele.
