Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people, making new friends, seeing old friends, talking about absolutely everything, discovering new cultures, visiting new places, welcoming travellers and learning from them.

Interests

I like learning languages and discovering new music, making music, listening to live music, everything about music, everything about reading. Reading mostly, as I am a literature person, like professionally.

I love being outside too! Anywhere, as long as it's outside, preferably in nature, but I like cities as well.

Dogs. Totally a dog person.

I am interested in everything that's human, everything they do I want to find out about. Maybe not quite everything, but a good deal anyway!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Kazuo Ishiguro, Bukowski. also T.C. Boyle and more elegant stuff like Edith Wharton.

Movies: films from around the world. Iranian films!

Music: all that is Brazilian like Bossa Nova (especially Bossa Nova!) Samba (especially Samba!), even baile funk, but also opera, Persian rap, Scottish folk, classic --- all very mixed!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, was pretty amazing to me - having a snow ball fight in June up there!

Spending a night in the Persian desert, and watching the sun rise while being afraid to be eaten by stray dogs.

That, and gliding in a plane above Cambridge while the sun broke through a blanket of clouds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hey, my room is a tiny Harry Potter cupboard, but I can put a mattress on the floor for you, and share joy... ;-)
