Born in the Republic of Dominica but left it forever when i was only 1 year old, I grew up mainly in Taiwan, an island where plenty of immigrants meet, a nation-state that few states recognize its sovereign. However, the experience so fragmented like that made me much tolerant to different styles of life. That is why I am glad to listen to the stories of others and to approach their uniqueness.

Speaking frankly, i am not a social animal, some friends even said that i am too "intellectual". However, i am trying to change this habit, to appreciate the life stories of others, and to share our points of view while keeping paying attention to our different view points.

I wish that i could be not only a story-collector or story-teller, but join in the stories myself. I am now a student in sociology in Paris Nanterre University.

To be a traveller : appraoch the local culture and know people who can inspire me. (yeah, i don't like the tourism-oriented manner anyway.... i have to admit my bias.)

Reading is one of my favorite habits, especially the philosophy (my favorite without doubt: Hannah Arendt, espeically the Human Condition)and some sociological theories (like Pierre Bourdieu, that is why i come to france): they help us appreciate the wisdom and the efforts that men and women have paid to reach them. However, the truly inspiring ideas come from the everyday-life, that is why travelling helps us understand each other and ourselves.

I have participated in some of the social movements in taiwan, like the Sun-Flower 318 Movement which is renowed for its occupation of Taiwan's highest legislative authroties.

What I would like to learn and share at the same time is keeping explore new alternative way of life : in fact, that is why i appreciate Hannah Arendt who promote the value of "plurality" of humankind.
