ABOUT ME

Who am I? That´s difficult...
I am just a guy trying to do things right for myself and to make the most of my time, sharing it with interesting and open-minded people, exchanging experiences, laughs, opinions and thoughts. Easier said than done. I found that traveling is a great way to do this, or couchsurfing, or just simply meeting new people in my hometown...
I grew up in Berlin, but lived in quite a few other places for some time. Now I'm back. Who knows what the future brings?

PHILOSOPHY

I think that one of the greatest things about travelling is getting to know yourself much better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first contact with couchsurfing just before my trip to Brazil in 2007. I hosted a few people in my place in Marseille.
In Brazil, I've stayed at Alberto's and then at Neimar's place in Sao Paulo, as well as with Aline in Recife and with Ana in Brasilia. I've hung out with other great CS people that I met at a CouchSurfing BBQ in Sao Paulo. All my couchsurfing experiences were extremely positive!!
While I was back in Brazil for a whole year, I lived in a small apartment. Caught in everyday work routine, I didn´t have as much time as I would like to participate in couchsurfing activities. Paulistas work A LOT, and as a foreigner it´s part of the experience to do as the locals do, isn´t it? - I ended up working quite long hours as well, which doesn´t always leave a lot of time to dedicate myself to this great network... But I did hang out with the couchsurfing people every now and then, people there meet up regularly for a barbecue, an after-work bar, and lots of other fun stuff.
This May I went to an international CS meeting in Krakow, Poland, which was amazing, too!
Now, back in my hometown Berlin, I participate in various CS meetings.

I walked ALL THE WAY DOWN the Grand Canyon. And back up again.
3 months of backpacking all around Brazil!!!
