Resumen
Sobre mí
We are an IT-administrator and a translator in our thirties.
We met on a holiday in Turkey, in 2004.
We like to travel and meet new people. While travelling we always try to get to know people from the country. We like to eat well and share a drink and stories with our hosts and guests.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
We started hosting in 2011 by coincidence when Flo met a dutch guy hitchhiking from the netherlands to berlin who was stuck in Hanover and needed a place to stay. Afterwards we started hosting regularly until november 2011 when we went to Australia and surfed other peoples couches.
We stayed one year in Australia and most of the time lived in our car and on other peoples couches, which was a great experience.
We then travelled 6 months through south america (living in cheap hostels and on other peoples couches whenever possible).
We came back to the normal life on August 2013 which means jobs (booo) and an apartment (yay), and also means we can finally host again.
As couchsurfing has gotten a lot of media attention in the recent years and thereby increased its popularity, we are getting more and more couch requests. Unfortunately, quite a few of them come from people who have no idea how this community works and who are only looking for a free place to stay and have neither read our profile nor taken the time so send a nice message. Therefore, when you send a couch request,
1. make sure it is a request and not just a message
2. make sure you use our names in your request
3. write at least a little bit a about yourself (one or two sentences) and make sure your profile is filled with information, so we can have a little idea about the kind of person you are.
I understand (and know from my own experience) that when you are travelling you don't always have great internet and not a lot of time, but I think those requirements are the minimum of politeness and respect that every couchsurfer should show to their host.
Couchsurfing is an awesome platform to get to know people from all over the world and we are looking forward to meeting you!

Algo increíble que he hecho
We swam with a dolphin once (her name was Floppy). Never imagined dolphins can be so impressive.
Swimming with the whalesharks was amazing and one of the most impressive things!
Sandra lived in Argentina for a year when she was 17. It was probably the best decision she ever made to go to a foreign country and get to know an unknowm culture.
Quit our jobs and went travelling for almost two years. Best decision ever!
