Hi everyone,

I'm Floriane and I have moved to Ireland a few months ago now. I am currently living in Newport County for the next three years (until 2020).
I'm a PhD student in biology and genetics of sticklebacks (small fish that I will be delighted to talk about, if you're curious and interested ;) ). To describe myself very shortly, I am a calm, listening and curious person. I love to talk about different topic such as politic, sciences, humans rights, volunteering and literature but I have a big thirst for knowledge, so I would be delighted to chat and learn more about anything that interest you! I am vegan for 7 years now and I will be happy to share a meal with you as I like to cook for people.
I also love to watch movies (independent cinema) and to listen to music, so you come, I'll probably put some music on (my favorite is reggae and French variety but I'll be glad to listen to new groups or styles!).

A good thing to know: I have to travel a lot for my work, so it is possible that I forgot to update mu profile to warn people that I am not around. Make you request as soon as possible to have the time to find another opportunity to stay in Newport!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I like to meet new people and to share. Nowadays, we spend more time on our smartphone than chatting and sharing. I also think it's a nice way for people to travel as you can meet locals, share culture and have a low cost trip.

I love : sciences, biology, politic discussion, social changes, environment concerned, reading, running, scuba-diving, self-defense, yoga, hiking, humans rights, animals rights and chilling :)

Music I like: Bob Marley, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Naâman, HK et Les Saltimbanks, Renaud, Compagnie Jolie Môme, Dub Inc, Jean Ferrat...and so much more!

I love to watch documentaries and my favorite movies are Little Miss Sunshine, Pride, Das Leben der Anderen, Le nom des gens, Tim Burton's movies ... but also an unconditional fan of Harry Potter saga!
