About Me

Moved to BeWelcome.org/members/florisr and trustroots.org/profile/florisr

I'm twenty-three years old and love exploring the world. On my trips, I like to get into local cuisine and meet people. I'm a big fan of artsy coffee shops and picturesque places. I usually travel with a camera, more recently I got a film camera which now accompanies me on my trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been travelling a lot, but somewhere along the way I realized, that quite often I'd end up doing touristy stuff, ignoring the history of the place and not meeting any locals.
I looked for ways to change this and found Couchsurfing. I started showing travellers around in my town and meet other couchsurfers when travelling. I loved it. Last summer, I stayed with a couchsurfer for the very first time, and I have to say: that trip was way more exciting and memorable than any trips I'd taken before.
Since then, I try to have couchsurfers over whenever the circumstances allow for it (I share an apartment of limited size with three others, so it is not always possible to host people).

I have to say, I'm lovin' it!

Interests

Like most people on here, I'm a great fan of languages, different cultures and travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading: Misquoting Jesus (B. Ehrman), So the wind won't blow it all away (Richard Brautigan)

Impressive books: Herztier (Herta Müller), The Brooklyn Follies (Paul Auster), Blitzeis (Peter Stamm)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Iran for a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn how to play those bonfire guitar sing-along-songs. I don't play an instrument, but I can teach you how to handle your camera in manual mode, I cook decent food and I'm happy to practice languages with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cook, I can offer interesting conversations, I can teach you languages.

Countries I’ve Visited
