Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To continue a life of adventure.
ABOUT ME
I'm living a dream I've had for many years. I finished building a small airplane and am now wandering the North American continent with it. I'm an avid backpacker and hiker. I also love kayaking. Well...flying too of course. I am in search of places to backpack and to kayak.
PHILOSOPHY
I've discovered quite late in my life that having solitude which enables me to enjoy, or at least appreciate, my own thoughts and feelings is both imperative to and an intimate part of enjoying time with people I love and care for or choose to spend time with. I am at an age where I need not be any kind of expert on anything. I just want to enjoy quality time alone and when possible share quality time with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just joined this thing. I will need mostly to find people who would be willing to give me a ride from an airport to a backpacking or kayaking site. I would be happy to take people up in my plane as a part of my offering here or to take people trekking in the mountain back country. There may be other ways I will find to participate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I really enjoy taking people up in my plane when they are excited about it. I feel the same about taking people hiking. I've been lucky to meet some great people in my travels and be able to share good time with them.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie was Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. I loved that he had to keep doing stuff over and over 'till he got it right. My favorite book was Trustee From a Toolroom by Neville Shute. I also loved The Agony and the Ecstacy by Irving Stone. I enjoy much music but ultimately come back to listen to classical.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built my own airplane.
Teach, Learn, Share
I spent a lot of my life working at being able to help people sort things out in their lives. Sometimes I am good at that because I can listen and sometimes rephrase things or respond in a way that proves helpful to a person. I'm hoping to become bilingual with French before I die. If I can do that I might decide to extend that to trilingual with Spanish.
