To enjoy my two children as much as I can before they grow up.

ABOUT ME

Lived overseas for several years and am now back in the US teaching. Lived in England, the Marshall Islands, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Now I am trying to indoctrinate my two boys in the ways of budget travel because this is the best way to truly absorb a culture.... it forces you to mix. Luxury travel allows a person to isolate themselves.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that people should give more than they receive. I hate the commercialism that has taken over most of our major holidays and I'd much prefer to take my son to work at an orphanage over Christmas than to sit around a Christmas tree and watch them rip into the latest transformer.

I am relaxed most of the time, and am a religious person, yet quietly so.

I like a lot of things. I am a pilot so I like to fly, I like sports, camping, traveling of course, reading, playing with my two children, time off of work, the outdoors, ... pretty much anything.

Movies: To end all wars, I am Sam, Big Fish.

Books: A Floating Life, the Lords of Discipline, River Town.

Music: Pretty much anything can be tolerated in small doses. Not a big fan of Chinese opera or of rap.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I always thought that seeing the Taj Mahal would be amazing, and it was... but also a bit anti-climactic. Thought the same about Macchu Picchu, and Angkor Wat, and the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall, and the Masai Mara in Kenya, or swimming with sharks in the Marshall Islands, or crawling through the Cu Chi Tunnels in Vietnam, ... but probably the most amazing thing that I can think of is watching my two children every day.
