My husband, Rian, and I have called Chicago home since 2009. Rian originally hails from Door County, Wisconsin; I'm from Recife, Brazil. We met while living in New York City, and have been attached at the hip ever since. We're creative types, often on the go, and always in good spirits. Rian has worked professionally in some of the America's great restaurants; I'm an art director for a global brand, lucky enough to work remotely with people from around the globe on a daily basis. Our dog, Zizí, doesn't have a job, but he's a full-time lover ;)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

We love to travel, and we're excited to meet new friends via Couchsurfing! In fall 2015 Rian and I will relocate our home-base to Recife, Brazil. After a few months spent exploring Northeastern Brazil's beautiful beaches, we'll begin a backpack-tour of South America. Before we begin traveling abroad and doing a little Couchsurfing of our own, we want to welcome many new friends into our home here in Chicago!

兴趣

Rian enjoys getting out of the house! He's always happiest on foot, exploring the city, meandering through the country. Rian enjoys his New Yorker, and often has a Neil Gaiman or Steven King novel on his bedside table. He loves (LOVES) food: the fancy stuff and the street-meat. He's also falling in love with making photos and videos, and can't wait to take his camera abroad!

Priscilla also loves (LOVES) food, whether cooking at home or eating out. She's happiest when learning about other cultures: meeting people from around the world, and always staying in touch. Priscilla enjoys summer concerts, street festivals, and spending time with friends, both old and new. She's an avid YouTuber, always on the lookout for those travel hacks!

Rian loves Wilco, the Beatles, and Bossa Nova (thanks, Priscilla). He'll watch almost any movie, as long as the reviews are good! When pressed for specifics, he'll happily elevate Upstream Color, L.A. Confidential, and Boogie Nights among his top ten. A few of his favorite books are American Gods, The Road, and Essays of E. B. White—he's all over the place.

Priscilla's tastes are very eclectic! She loves the Decemberists, Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles (thanks, Rian), and Northeastern Brazilian folk music. Movies: Lost in Translation, The Devil Wears Prada, Love Actually—pretty much anything that makes her happy. Her favorite author is Isabel Allende, and she's probably read all of her books.

Rian went skydiving on his 18th birthday and didn't break any bones. Priscilla moved to NYC from Brazil at age 19, barely speaking any English. Point: Priscilla.
