I live in Ann Arbor, MI, and spend most of my time doing theater. I'm also an arborist and carpenter. I love trips and adventures, especially when they involve swimming or canoes. Let's all do what we love and do best and actively contribute to a connected, vibrant local and global community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people, both at home and while traveling! My partner and our dog and I have opened our home a handful of times to really wonderful folks visiting Ann Arbor, and had some incredible experiences traveling abroad being hosted by amazing people.

Interests

Theatre (in many forms), canoeing, backpacking, wilderness, playing music, dumpster diving, spontaneity, farming.
Wildly beautiful moments, those that fill me with joy to be alive and simultaneously terrify me with the thought that I cannot hold on to that feeling or share it with others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the books I read are plays. J.M. Barrie, Chekhov, Williams, Miller, O'Neill, Moliére, among many others.
I listen to mostly older music, folk, blues, jazz, rock 'n' roll.
I don't watch a lot of movies. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Paddled a canoe through the southernmost tip of the arctic ocean (the James Bay).

Teach, Learn, Share

In the theatre world, I'm a director, an actor, a producer, an entrepreneur. Always looking to discover new things about theatre, also always happy to teach and facilitate.
I'm pretty well versed in wilderness adventure, primarily canoeing. I've worked in tree work, landscaping and carpentry, so if you need some repairs or yard work done while I'm staying with you, I can probably help out. I love to expand my knowledge of plants, animals, farming, traditional skills. I'm open to learning anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to play music and sing together, I enjoy cooking (always up for making pancake breakfast), always happy to lend my handyman skills to odd things around the house.
