About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Change my life! I've been working a job that I didn't care for for too long, and am looking to broaden my horizons and work on farms in other countries in preparation for owning my own land! I want to meet people, teach them to sew, and learn all I can!

ABOUT ME

I am 29 and have traveled all over the US working for theaters, but have lived in San Francisco for 5 years. I left and spent some time WWOOFing around Norway where I met my partner, Nicolas (a handsome Frenchman) and now we are headed to Douarnenez to spend the year.

I love WWOOFing and hope to do more in order to learn about new cultures and work on farms in in different seasons and ecosystems than I am used to in the US- preparation for eventually living off of the land more permanently and sustainably.

I love sewing and was a professional seamstress (couturiere) since university; I read a ton, like hiking, getting to the top of things, meeting new people, baking, growing plants and animals, and just about anything you can do with your hands.

PHILOSOPHY

I read somewhere recently a quote that went *something* like this: "Let yourself die completely, and then begin to live" I'm taking this to heart right now, trying to be unafraid of quitting a job I was unhappy with and the relative safety of staying where I was at to travel some, make changes in my life, and find happiness elsewhere and in new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can sew anything you ask me to! One of the potential benefits of having me couchsurf with you is having your pants hemmed... I've been on a mission to learn more about growing plants and animals and have been cheesemaking as much as I've been able to in the past few years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not couchsurfed with others yet, but I have hosted a few people in San Francisco where I have been living. So far the experiences have been fantastic (if the people actually show up), and I have really enjoyed the people who have been with us.

Interests

Archaeology, philosophy, books, sewing, sculpting, origami, farming, milking, cheesemaking, canning, hooping, dancing, wandering...the list goes on and on......so many things, so little time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Northern Lights from a farm north of Tromso, Norway, far above the Arctic Circle.

Seeing the origami masks I made for the play "Rhino" take the stage.

Walking a herd of sheep down a mountain in the snow.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sewing, making useful items out of unusual objects, canning

I hope to learn more languages, more cultures, more about farming, knitting, just about anything you want to teach me

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Norway, United Kingdom
