About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Tread Lightly Upon the Earth

ABOUT ME

(2016) Well, after several years somewhat out of CS travel action (have hosted CS and backpacking friends), I'm reentering the CS community now as a family man. In addition to everything below, I also have a wonderful wife and son. We're easy going, love meeting people and sharing culture, food and stories. Currently we are in Saigon, Vietnam where we have lived the last 4 years. Now, we are making our way back to Wellington, NZ where we first met in 2010.

(2009) About me: I'm a pretty simple guy, I guess. I'm down to earth, easygoing, friendly and humble. I like to try new things, go many places, esp. in nature, and meet new people from all over the globe. I'm into healthy living - fitness, yoga, meditation, organic food - kind of an eco-freak. Took me awhile to get here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Love to share experiences with people, whether it's going on a trip together, or just telling tales. I had my first CS experience in Oz. Went to some meet-ups in California and surfed a bit in New Zealand, Vietnam and Japan. Couchsurfing has been a great experience for me everywhere I've gone since I joined.

Would love to meet more CSers and host someday.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First heard about CS in NZ, and had my first CS exp. in Oz. Everyone I've met through CS so far has been amazing, very kind and generous. Look forward to meeting more of you!

Interests

I love traveling and meeting new people, I find it's the best part of traveling. I like experiencing different cultures and eating all kinds of delicious food. And I love nature, and outdoor activities. I'm also into working out, yoga, and healthy living. And I play guitar, er try to.

Music, Movies, and Books

Great books-The Alchemist, Celestine Prophecy, Lakota Woman, Dharma Punx, Shantaram. Read most of those. Enjoy books on spirituality, books by P. Cohelo and Mantak Chia. Love all kinds of good music, esp. blues and reggae. Like heaps of movies, but I'd rather get off my butt and do something, usually.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angkor Wat, Mount Fuji sunrise, aerobatics flying over Sydney, snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, hiking Tongariro Crossing in a blizzard.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a teacher, but I don't know what to say here. I'm interested in learning from other people, though. How they got trough a rough situation, for instance. I like stories. Lately I've also realized how much potential and creative energy is locked up within all of us and not tapped into in our daily lives. No matter how mundane or complex life is, we have this ability to incorporate spirituality and art into the everyday. I'm interested in unlocking that creative potential through meditation, art, music, food and sharing it with others.
