Overview
About Me
I like to stay fit and am very active; riding my bicycle, motorcycle, running, working out, playing ultimate frisbee. I play drums and perform regularly in many bands playing various styles of music. I usually perform 6-8 times per month. I enjoy going to movies; I love to laugh. I love a good scary movie but not a lot of blood and guts! Independent films are my favorite but I do still enjoy many blockbusters. I love animation. I've always wanted to go hang gliding...just a bit off the ground! I love to eat. I'm little but I love sweets; chocolate and ice cream the most. Italian food is my favorite since it is what I was raised eating. I have become more adventurous lately and have tried many new foods. (How did I not cross paths with avocados until recently? :)
I love hiking; I lived in LA for 5 years and walked or ran virtually every day. I love hot rods and custom motorcycles. I enjoy working on old cars and cycles. I ride my motorcycle (Honda Shadow 600) nearly every day rain or shine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I will be heading to Europe in August (my first time abroad) and am planning on riding my bicycle throughout Ireland, England and Wales. From Amsterdam, through Belgium and France, down the west coast of Italy to Sicily. I will zip over to Tunisia for a day or two and then back to Sicily for an extended period of time, hopefully a few months. I am on an extremely tight budget(will be camping most of my trip.)
Couchsurfing seems like a fun way to meet great people along the way!
I am also looking for like minded people to either ride along for a bit ANYWHERE along with me on this trip. I'm on no set schedule at all so I can spend as much time as I want, anywhere along the way!
I cannot offer housing right now because I am about to move in with a friend for two months until my trip to Europe. Upon my return to the States, I will be riding my motorcycle cross country to settle again in Los Angeles. Once in LA, I will gladly offer my couch to weary travelers!

Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught Elementary and Middle School for over 30 years.
I presently have 20 drum students.
I love to learn, especially Math and Science. I love learning about other cultures. New places intrigue me.
The music of other countries is always a fascinating way to learn more about its people.
I am a warm hearted, caring person who loves all people. I hold no prejudice. I was raised by parents who taught me to respect and care about every living thing. I am proud to say that I raised my children to be the same way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to talk. I love to brag about Cleveland Ohio, where I was born and lived most of my life. I love sharing my love of music with others. Sharing stories about my life would hopefully help others to share theirs with me.
I am outgoing but bring along a bit of shyness as well. I enjoy making new friends. It's fun sitting around with new acquaintances and finding similarities and differences that would spark further conversations.
I'm terrible at telling jokes but I love to laugh and have fun. I've always said (half kiddingly,)
"If it's not fun, I don't wanna do it!" I used this approach as a teacher;
I tried my best to have my students enjoy what they were learning.
