About Me

I left home in Melbourne, Australia for the UK a few years ago. I lived on a narrowboat which we moved all throughout London, leading to many varied experiences.. It was a great way to live slowly and sustainably through all the bustle! I had the chance to travel through Nepal and India where I experienced immense kindness and generosity from the families I stayed with, I cherish the memories of my time there and carry them through my experiences now. I hope to live my life in consistent communion with nature, dedicating myself to the continuation of her beauty!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I still believe in the residing goodness of humanity.
In this time which is heavy with fear, uncertainty, and individualism, there has grown a great separation between people, communities, and nature. It is a revolutionary act to trust people in these times, to believe in the power of communal living, human connections, and to cherish the generosity of strangers; strangers who become friends, friends who become new leaves upon a growing branch of reciprocity and kinship. Couchsurfing allows people to travel without consuming, to share resources, stories, and kindness.. the way it has been for centuries and the way it should be now!

Music, Movies, and Books

Nick Drake, John Martyn, and Leonard Cohen are some of my favourite artists but I spend most of my time listening to music of all kinds, so there are many others whose sound accompanies my life! I do love to go dancing to electronic too
..

Novels like the classic ‘Siddartha’ by Herman Hesse, short stories like ‘The Old Man and The Sea’ by Hemingway, and the works of the masterful Jorge Luis Borges.
Other favourite authors are; Le Guin, Camus, Beckett, Kerouac, Huxley.. many! I’ve been reading mostly non-fiction lately - essays and thoughts from minds that I love

‘Koyaanisqatsi’ by Godfrey Reggio
