About Me

*** Not accepting guests at the moment as I am moving out of the city soon -- sorry about that. Will update my info as soon as I have a new address. ***

I was born and raised in a small town in the Alps, in northwestern Italy. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to travel, so when I was 19 I moved to Lausanne, Switzerland where I started my Bachelor in Environmental Engineering. In 2014 I did one year of Erasmus (European university exchange program) in Barcelona, Spain. It was definitely one of my best experiences so far! In 2015 I went back to Switzerland to start my master. I moved to New York City in February to do my master thesis. I will travel during the summer before deciding where to look for my first job and start a new life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've just graduated from Columbia University and will spend my summer travelling in the West coast. I believe that staying with locals is the best way of getting to know new places -- I've done it before but never used Couchsurfing!!

Interests

I love spending my spare time outdoors: skiing in winter, hiking or swimming in summer. The interest in landscapes, the open air and in particular ecosystems made me choose my career in environmental engineering.

If I'm not outdoors, I love to dance and learn new choreographies. My style is streedance/hip hop.
I also love to have an healthy lifestyle: I do yoga and meditate regurarly.

Oh, and I adore reading, mostly fantasy books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most exciting thing I've ever done so far was backpacking in China and India last summer with a group of friends. I was thrilled because it was my first trip in another continent and my first backpacking experience! I really liked it. This trip confirmed my passion for travelling and discovering new cultures and motivated me to travel even more.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, since I am Italian, I can cook Italian meals :) Since I was a child I watched my mum cooking and I improved my skills while living on my own and cooking everyday in the past 5 years.
I can also teach short yoga lessons (mostly sun salutations A and B, with some more asanas).
We can also dance! I know some choreography of the artists I mentioned before (pop music)
