ABOUT ME

I am from the United States, but I am currently living in Madrid, Spain. I work as an assistant English teacher at a public school and I LOVE every minute of it!

I came to Spain after graduating college because I didn't want to start a "real job" right away and feel tied down or as though I was stuck. I also wanted to start traveling since I had never left the US prior to that. A lot of people say they want to travel, but few of them actually do it. I wanted to make sure I was one of those people!

I decided that I wanted to take advantage of this time in my life, and I think I made the right decision! I do think about my future a lot, but I am more concerned with the present :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to Couchsurfing! I have always been interested, but, while I love meeting new people, I was nervous about the thought of staying with strangers. However, after meeting so many wonderful people during my travels, I believe that most people are good people and you can always enjoy a good time with them. I feel ready to try Couchsurfing now, and I hope I will soon be updating this box with many positive stories :)

音乐、电影和书籍

I love movies, music, and books that I can learn from. My favorite genres are non-fiction and realistic fiction, especially historical. I don't watch a lot of movies (not because I don't like them...I do! Just because there is so much more to do!), but when I do, I prefer movies based on true stories, documentaries, biographies, etc.

I also love comedies... no need to explain why!

I have gone through many music phases, but when it comes down to it, my favorites are those that my mother listens to :)

FAVORITES:

MOVIES: I don't really have favorites (I know, what a weirdo), but typically I enjoy any movies except science fiction and cheesy or romantic comedies.

MUSIC: The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Kevin Devine

BOOKS: The Catcher in the Rye, David Sedaris books, The Lord of the Flies, The Kite Runner, 1984, A Heart-Breaking Work of Staggering Genius

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I can't choose one! Right now I can just say that I am proud of myself for getting out and seeing the world...or beginning to, at least. I have a LOT more to go :)
