About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Remain Awesome.
ABOUT ME
How about this? Here are things I like. You decide what kind of person I am.
Johnny Cash, Rich Mullins, Getting involved, being with poor people, hanging out with homeless guys, watching good comedy, and being good comedy.
I live in Modesto, California, where I work with a group called Youth With A Mission Modesto (ywammodesto.org). The term "youth" is used loosely.
I am from Canada, though I've lost most of my accent from living in the States for several years. Sorry.
I make very little money, and have seen more of the world than most rich folks I know. Pretty sweet.
PHILOSOPHY
The earth is full of the glory of God. I believe his glory is people. People are pretty cool... well, you know... when they're not being idiots.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I learned from hitchhiking in various places that there are a lot of good, interesting people around if you take the risk of getting to know them. Couchsurfing seems to be a way of doing that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
none... yet!

Let's see... Travelling with meaning, and not staying in hotels that make you feel like you may as well be home.

Music, Movies, and Books
Big, kinda dumb, fun movies. Little movies no one's heard of. Old movies. Old movies no one's heard of.
Johnny Cash, Rich Mullins, Andrew Peterson, Wilco, and probably that other guy you really like. Ron Sexsmith. Ben Shive.
John Steinbeck, Stephen King, and John Steinbeck.
G.K. Chesterton, J.K. Rowling, C.S. Lewis, I.P. Nitely.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitching through the Holy Land, hanging out with monks; Hitching through Ireland; Eating in Malaysia; Playing with kids living in a garbage dump in Thailand; Eating "Indian Tacos" at a Pow-Wow in B.C. (notice any recurring theme here?)
People are amazing, all over the place.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to hang out with a homeless drunk. It's what I do for a living.
I'm also good at listening.
