About Me

Update: We are back home in Santiago and soon will start receiving couchsurfers!!
I'm from Chile. Since last April my wife and I left our 9:00 to 18:00 jobs to travel for one year through most of the far and south east Asia. In Japan we experienced wwoofing and loved everithing about living with locals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After experiencing wwoofing, we realized that we enjoyed staying with people more than what we enjoy just sightseeing, because of that we thought that coachsurfing could be a great way to meet new people from all around the world, to see and learn the secrets you can only learn by sharing with locals or people living in the places we visit.

Interests

My wife and I love making new friends and learning about different cultures. We enjoy nature, love animals and sports, trekking, diving, rock climbing and yoga (we are got our TTC in Vinyasa Yoga last October in Rishikesh). We love a good book and a bottle of wine by the fire in a cold winter evening, but also the same book with a coconut under a shade in a tropical beach.
We try to live in a healthy and conscious way, we are vegetarians (but before vegetarians we are grateful so if anyone did something with love and meat we will enjoy it!) we work out regularly and try not to eat too much processed foods.
We have plans to live in our own permaculture farm in the future and hopefully one day have a place where others can share, work and learn about that way of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dune, Harry Potter, Lewis, LOTR.
The best book I've ever read is Mindset by Carol Dweck, the book is a summary of 20 years of research on how people cope with failure and success depending on their Mindset. She defines two types of minset, growth and fixed, and describes how having one or another can affect your whole life. She also teaches you to change your minset so you can fulfill your true potencial.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have dived with whale sharks in Mexico! And gone around the world twice!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share with you about Chilean culture, we can cook for you some Chilean dishes, teach you some Spanish, talk about books, movies, nature, sports, traveling and our adventures.
I really want to learn French and in general anything about what makes your culture unique. We would also love to learn how to cook local food!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a great time! Great conversation, some humor, some help with chores. If it is ok with you I can also offer a never-ending stream of questions about your life and culture.
