I've helped friends of friends in the past, hosting them for a couple of days. I didn't know them, but trusted my friends. In the end I, it was always interesting to meet these people. I think if people are willing to host me - a friendly and, I hope funny, french man- or visit me, it could be nice in the same ways I experienced in the past !
