About Me

I am a physicist living (mostly) in Paris, sometimes traveling to Philadelphia for work, and sometimes sweeping by NYC for non-work (and pretending quickly to work, I have a colleague there).
My wife has worked at various NGOs, now she's managing projects to help refugees find work.
We try to stick to vegetarianism, but we allow exceptions! (we're "flexitarians")

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people! Especially when I travel alone (without my wife), I think my "travel" becomes really interesting only when I meet people and I get to learn about the life of folks in the places I visit. I hope couchsurfing will let me do that. It's not that easy to actually talk with people when you know no one.

My wife is more shy than me towards "strangers" so she's not ready yet to use couchsurfing for holidays. If I have good experiences with it, maybe I'll convince her!

Interests

I'm interested in Physics (my work), but also in many other things!
I'm quite interested into politics (but we don't *have* to talk politics).
I've been practicing aïkido for a few years now, and I enjoy it quite much.
I like to hike, although I would not say I'm great at it. In cities, I like to wander around and slowly discover the neighborhood.
I can play tennis decently, but I'm not very much competitive, so don't expect anything crazy!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies and books, like lots of people, and I'm especially interested in Sci-Fi, when it explores utopia or alternate universes (this goes back to politics & philosophy).
My general favorite music genre would be electronic music, but I'm quite open to discover other things. I like "big beat" and things that allow one to dance (preferably to dance crazily).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can sure tell you about how things work! And I enjoy that very much. People tend to tell me I'm not too bad at explaining.
I am not sure about what this section is about..
