I'm a 37 year old guy, living in Delft (the Netherlands). I live on my own in a small apartment in the centre of this nice city. In my daily work I'm a law-enforcer/waterquality "expert" for a government department that takes care of the surface and sewerwater. So I can pretty much explain how watermanagement works in the Netherlands, if anyone is interested :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like new experiences and love meeting new people. For me it's a way of broading my horizon. I also love helping people and showing them a good time. :)
Although I have been working in this city for over 10 years, I just recently moved here (6 months ago). So for me it's also a chance to get to know my own town better by possible sharing explorations with visitors.

Interests

Although I'm not as well travelled as I would wanted, I do love to travel. I thorouhly enjoyed every trip i've made, and I did make some extraordinary journeys.
Another passion is music, both listening and playing, as I clumsily strummed my guitar sometimes...
I also used to be a very active gamer, a form of entertainment I still practice so once in a while.
Beside this I love life altogether, every small and big part of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Although it's a cliché, I really do have a increddible broad interest when it comes to music. I do tend to like older music more and I stear away from the extreme of any genre. That said my taste goes from hardrock to dance, from classic to Motown, from movie/serie/game theme's to modern and popular pop. The same goes for movies.
I have read quite some SF, fantasy and horror/thriller books in my days, but it's been a while since i've read a real book...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've travelled to South-Georgia, which is a island that is a part of the continent Antartica. The fact the journey took place on a restored two masted schooner made the trip even more memorable.
