Cooking - I've gone from an against my will day job cook to a love to do it home "chef"
Meeting People: Starting from square one with anyone. I love that yellow bench in Mountjoy square, Dublin.
Filmmaking - I will not give up!
Rally Racing - my politically incorrect vice/pleasure. I blame Top Gear.
Music - if it's good it's good. No favorites.
History - from the bottom up.
Motorcycles - I Blame Long Way Round. BMW Italian bikes
Football - Arsenal, Sevilla, Ireland, Ghana

Not Interested in:
Golf.
Smartphone Apps - unless there is a specific interest of mine that they serve.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live more than an hour outside of Burlington, Vermont, so I can't really host any couch surfers, but what I can and would love to do is show you around our nice little city if you are in Vermont.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back in the day, you ended up on a couch when you had either screwed up your life to the point where you had to crash at a friend's house (until you were tossed out). So now, as a person trying to see a lot of the world as best I can, I've grown a little tired of lodging in B&B's, and motels, but I do have a weakness for a good hotel.

It was not exactly a couch surf, but a few years ago I traveled to Sevilla, Spain in order to participate in a study course that I was not ready to deal with. I pulled out of the course only to find that I would not be able to change my flight plans without spending a huge amount of money. As a result, I had about two weeks stranded in Sevilla. The only thing for it was to change the stranding into a "residence" in the city. long story short - I made a few friends and Sevilla is no one of my favorite places on earth because I had to dig deeper into the place than one would do on a holiday. I imagine that's what couch surfing does.
