About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to see as much as is humanly possible, do as much as is humanly possible, and meet as many interesting people as I possibly can. It's all about experience.

ABOUT ME

At 21, I've traveled a fair share, though not half as much as I'd like. I'm looking forward to traveling more as I get older. I drink and I smoke and I like to laugh and trade stories. I love listening to music, catching concerts when I'm not working.

I'm looking forward to road-tripping through western Texas with my best friend for summer 2011, completing section two of a book we're working on about road-tripping together through places mentioned by our favourite band.

I absolutely love tea and coffee, and I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich - if you come to stay, you'll almost certainly be treated to one. Unless you're vegan, of course. And then we'll just find something else for you to eat.

PHILOSOPHY

Part of one of my tattoos is for Jack Kerouac's "Belief and Technique for modern prose". I have "rule four" tattooed as the label of a mixtape, and rule four is, of course, "be in love with yr life".

That's what I'm trying to do, and what I mostly succeed at.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've not been able to host anywhere before, and I'm pretty stoked to be able to do so now. I'm lucky enough to have a roommate who didn't bat an eye when I brought a band home from the bar to crash, and she's quite willing to have travelers stay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think my favourite thing to have experienced was when I was 19; I bought a two month unlimited travel Greyhound pass and took off for six weeks, stopping in various towns to visit friends and wander the streets in places I didn't really know. I slept on the bus at night, going from one town to the next.

The most amazing part of all that was probably sitting on a fire escaoe in Athens, GA, watching the sunrise with a guy who was also from Toronto, who I'd met by chance on the street.
