ABOUT ME

I am in my early 40s, currently a masters student, studying African Politics. Previously I was a secondary school teacher, a counsellor and worked in the homeless sector. I enjoy travelling aboroad and have lived and worked in Prague and Ethiopia. I have to say that I don't actually live in York - I have only put this as the town I live in does not appear on the couchsurfing website. It is called Hebden Bridge and it is a very pretty little English town, well worth a visit. I live on a boat, which is why I am not verified - because you can't be verified without a permanent address.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is summed up by Maude in 'Harold and Maude': L-I-V-E-LIVE! I don't believe in wasting one's life in the trappings of social normalcy - get out there and experience as much as possible - you only have one life. I cry for those who spend all their time tyring to pay off their mortgage or improve their pension - what a waste. Do what you really want to do and enjoy!

Interests

I most enjoy going to somewhere completely different to where I am used to and learning about how different people live and think.
