About Me

My name is Fanny and I was born and raised in Austria. After spending a year in Poland after graduating from high school and travelling solo for the first time, I've moved to Vienna three years ago to study midwifery and I still love it here.
Since I've graduated in June, I've been enjoying my freedom before starting to work and continue to study in fall.
I want to spend the summer exploring more of Europe and can't wait to meet people and go on new adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because getting in touch with locals is the best way to learn about a culture, I love meeting new people and I am always grateful for seeing a place from the perspective of a local!

Interests

I am a very open-minded person and I love travelling, reading, singing, hiking and so on.
I like to find joy in everyday things sunsets, good food, bike rides or just lying in the sun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I get very excited about good music and I like a lot of things but my all time favourite genres would probably be some kind of Indie and British hip hop. Right now I'm mostly listening to Loyle Carner, Giant Rooks, Florence + the machine, boygenius and Little Simz.

My favourite books in the last few years were "Girl, woman, other" by Bernadine Evaristo, "Herkunft" by Saša Staniśić and "Blutbuch" by Kim de l'Horizon. I am always looking for book recommendations so feel free to drop yours!

As for movies, I don't really have favourites but I love Fleabag by Phoebe Wallerbridge.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think pinning it down to one thing is very hard. What I can say is that while travelling, the most amazing things always came from talking to locals and I've gained the most inspiration and moments of connection by just being open minded and having a chat with people on the street.
Besides that living in Poland to do a European Voluntary Service was probably one of the best decision I have ever made because it changed my views on the term home and helped me get out of my comfort zone for the very first time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can to teach you how to make Austrian dessert in my grandma's way and some German if you want.

I want to learn more about politics and culture but most importantly I want to gain knowledge about life and broaden my horizon.

What I Can Share with Hosts

(Vegetarian) Cooking, being very cheerful and lots of gratitude. Plus I can answer every question about pregnancy and childbirth (no matter how "weird" it might seem haha).
