About Me

WARNING: there is very little chance that I would host someone before early july (let us say 7th/8th). Too busy. Sorry!

ABOUT ME:

I live in a small Roman town, Nimes, most of the time with my two teenagers (14 and 17 years old) in a quite big house nearby the center town.

I am a scientist at the University of Montpellier specialized in coastal sciences (waves & good vibes :-) :-) ). Practically, this is applied mathematics, physics and a ladle of geosciences...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Thanks to my professional position, I used to move around the world quite often in the past 15 years; and I practiced "couchsurfing" without the web site support, but mainly thanks to old university networks. Now I found this web site, receiving kind people at home is another opportunity for us to broaden a little bit more our horizon, which is always a good think.

Interests

  • scuba diving
  • beaches
  • playing guitar
  • mountain climbing
  • music in general

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic music, Rock n'roll. I really like traditional US country music, especially this famous french but US-friendly guitar player Marcel Dadi. And many U.S. guitar players.

Books. Sciences. Hard Science.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well... I couldn't say easily what is amazing and what is not in my personal experience... I guess this depends on the point of view. If "amazing" is understood like outstanding, I would say that growing up my children could be the top thing I have done... :-)

Alternatively, regarding travels, I could mention (i) a very long trip in South America, really alone for weeks and weeks (4 months) in quite isolated mountain ranges (Northernmost Bolivia) or (ii) something totally different like 15 successive quite long stays in Taiwan, a really nice country to my opinion.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play classic guitar since ... years (I remember to have started lessons of guitar when I was 7 years old). I can play with people who'd like to. My daughter can get in also.

I can debate eventually on topics relative to physics, mathematics, philosophy, life. Anything... Well, we chat all day long with the kids... :-) But we know also when to keep quiet :-) :-) :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Eventually:
- Share travel experiences;
- Share music (guitar or other) sessions;
- Have "philosophical" exchanges;
- Move around with you if you stay enough, or if I have enough time for;
- Move around in the mountains for short breaks if you stay a few days and if we are in good dispositions at the time of your venue;
- You can enjoy the trampoline (and the swimming pool during summer) anytime.
