My name is Fred, I'm 28, and basically I think it does not quite be of any help to write down a lot about myself here, since most people you meet see you in a different way, than you see yourself. Or something like that.

So.... if you get to read this, and think about hosting me, you will most likely have to deal with my girlfriend Pascale as well. We are a couple for about a year now, and this is the first time we are going on a journey together. We are usually very easy to handle, mostly sharing happiness, smiles, love and laughs all over the place, and a awesome team in pretty much everything we do.
For me, at the moment, this upcoming journey to Colombia and maybe some other places in south america, is the biiiiig thing i am waiting for since almost a year. I spent a lot of time working lately, and couldn't really enjoy many things about life. So traveling is going to get me back a lot closer to myself again and hopefully to nature as well.
I am very interested in anything, when it comes to coffee, since i work as a coffee roaster and a barista. And since coffee is like this super big thing in Colombia, i'm already looking forward to be there a LOT!

Estoy muy interesado en cualquier cosa de café, por que trabajo como tostador de café y barista. Y por que el café es súper grande en Colombia, ¡ya estoy contento por estar allí MUCHO!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling is the most interesting and enriching thing to do in life. And meeting new people and listening to their stories is, right after eating all the nice food you've never heard of before, the best thing about traveling. I started my early journeys with basically staying in hostels all the time, but after a while, i realized, that most people i met like this, didn't really had much to say about the places where i stayed, simply because they were just visiting themselves.
So first time couchsurfing for me was in Indonesia, with a travel companion, that managed a couchsurfing for both of us. And right from the start, that was just this way different experience than all the hostel stays before. Like this cool guy, that used to study in Europe, but didn't get to travel outside Indonesia after finishing his studies. So instead of traveling, he invited people from around the world to his place, where he always took himself at least a full day of his schedule, to spent time with them, show them around, and talk to them about whatever it was they wanted to tell him. After this, i started to use couchsurfing a lot, like almost every city i went to. Sure, it doesn't always works that easy to find appropriate people, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Then, another time, you put a emergency request in like the middle of the night, and you get invited like 3 times in 10 minutes.
I have had some incredible experiences with couchsurfing in the past, some for sure unforgettable. Like once, where me and my sister met a monk that invited people to stay with him and his buddist brothers in a temple. Just so that a couple of days later the police showed up with kind of like a raid team, just to tell us we where not actually allowed to stay there.
It's usually the mindset of the people that you meet using this platform, which makes all these experiences so worth having.

I would love to learn from the people i meet and enlarge my mind by what they are telling me about stuff i don't know much about. The same way I would love to tell people all i know about the things they are interested in.

Por lo general, es la mentalidad de las personas que conoce utilizando esta plataforma, lo que hace todas experiencias valioso de tener.

Me encantaría aprender de las personas que conozco y ampliar mi mente por lo que me cuentan sobre cosas de las que no sé mucho. Del mismo modo, me encantaría contarle a la gente todo lo que sé sobre las cosas que les interesan.
