About Me

Hi, my name is Frederik. Since finishing school I have spent two years doing what I love - working as a substitute teacher in my home country of Denmark, and travelling (spending most of my time in Australia). It's safe to say these have been the best years of my life so far.

I believe there is nothing more interesting than the workings of the human mind, and am very excited to begin a Bachelor of Psychology later this year. Although I am not yet sure of the exact career I hope to have, I know that I would be happy working within this field. :)
My other interests include linguistics, animals and food!!

I see myself as a trustworthy person who is nice to anyone that is nice to me!

The most important thing to know about me as a traveller is that I'm a very respectful, clean and tidy person because that's also the kind of person I want to host. If someone opens their home to me and my girlfriend (who I'm travelling with) then we will be so grateful. I have no doubt that you'll love us no matter who you are!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I can't get enough of travelling. I love meeting new people and there's no better way to travel than to live with the locals. It's such an authentic experience and it's just a great opportunity to get to know both other people and yourself better. You are pushed out of your comfort zone and that's when experiences really get under your skin and stay with you.

I have been really fortunate on my travels that people have opened their door and let me in without knowing me. That just made me want to explore this charming and trusting side of humanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year, I travelled to Cairns, Australia and within the first hour of touching down in Cairns I met the girl of my dreams. I fell in love with her straight away and spent a month in Cairns. I continued my trip. I went to Mebourne, Perth and Bali and I stayed with local families the entire time. This was organised through another site but it was amazing how these people opened their homes to me and I'm so happy to still be in contact with these lovely families. Instead of going back to Denmark after Bali as planned I went back to Cairns. I ended up spending 8 months in beautiful Cairns having the time of my life with my incredible girlfriend who is now travelling around Europe with me.
